Of course! At Comfy Koalas we only focus on what matters, that's why our nappy features a practical wetness indicator but no unnecessary prints.

The Wetness Indicator is a yellow line on the nappy that changes to blue when your little koala needs changing.

It's made from polymer that is safe and non-toxic. We use the hot melt process which uses antioxidant antioxidant; 6683-19. This is the best process for baby and the environment.

Our nappies are plain white with a yellow Wetness Indicator.

Our nappies have a small Comfy Koalas logo on the front and our nappy pants have a little koala face on the front, these are just to indicate which way to pop them on.

No all-over prints, no oil-based inks.

No: chlorine, alcohol, perfumes, latex, PVC, TBT, antioxidants, phthalates or preservatives.

All you need to do is pop the nappies into a biodegradable bag, and then into the regular garbage bin.

The quantity of nappies in each Monthly Box varies depending on size:

Size 1 (Newborn 2-4kg) - 216 Nappies per box

Size 2 (Infant 3–8kg) - 192 Nappies per box

Our nappy is predominately plant-based, made from ethically sourced, FSC Certified Bamboo, chlorine-free wood pulp and GMO-free PLA (corn starch).

Ingredients list & function: 

Super soft Bamboo

We're huge fans of the environmental and skin loving benefits of bamboo, so our main material is ethically sourced, FSC certified, chlorine free bamboo.

Corn Starch

We use corn-starch (PLA) for our innovative ComfyDry liner for it's amazing moisture wicking powers. Corn starch is a plant powered, water resistant alternative to the plastic you often find on the liners of supermarket nappies.

Wood Pulp & Super Absorbent Polymers

Ethically sourced, FSC Certified wood pulp, together with Japanese super absorbent polymers (SAP) power our core. These ingredients draw in moisture fast, keeping your lil koala dry.

Tissue Paper

Layers of tissue paper are nestled between our plant powered core and corn starch liner, helping to draw moisture down, away from baby's skin.

Spandex and PE

We use spandex and PE (a type of plastic) for flexibility and comfort in our nappy leg cuffs, secure sticky tabs and tab attachment strip.

For a comfy fit on our nappy pants, we use spandex in our stretchy waistband and leg cuffs.

We also use a very thin PE film in the middle of our nappy/pant layers, against our tissue paper, that helps to keep moisture down in our plant powered core, and not flow back up to our corn starch liner. This is buried deep in our nappy, and nowhere near baby's skin. If you're home composting components, this can easily be torn out.

Currently, we're unable to engineer these plastic components out, without jeopardising the performance and comfort of the nappy. However, with the advancement of bioplastics, we expect we'll be able to continue to increase our plant based materials beyond 80%, in the future.

Our frontal design is made from a vegetable based ink.

Our nappies and nappy pants contain NO all-over prints, no chlorine, no alcohol, no perfumes, no latex, PVC, TBT, antioxidants, phthalates or preservatives.

They're also independently tested PFAS free.

Derma Test have also dermatologically tested our nappies and certified them 'Excellent' for sensitive skin (goodbye nappy rash!). Australian Certified Toxic Free and Sensitive Skin safe by SCA.

We make our Eco Nappies with the help of our manufacturing partner, an environmentally certified factory in the Fujian province in China.

We personally met with several manufacturers, inspected factories and their processes before selecting our partner.

We chose them for a number of reasons, including their ethical workplace practices, their bamboo specialism and environmental certifications.

Our manufacturing partner regularly undertakes independent workplace audits by 'Amfori, Trade with Purpose' as part of their commitment to sustainability and ethical workplace pay/practices and consistently delivers great results.

Our goal has always been to make the most sustainable nappies possible with no nasties. We love supporting local, but it's not always that simple. When we started Comfy Koalas we researched manufacturing in Australia, but the commercial bamboo industry (plantations, equipment and manufacturing technology) are still in early stages, so for a business looking to make a complex bamboo nappy like ours, it's just not yet feasible.

By using our manufacturing partner in China we're able to achieve our goal. We can also keep the price affordable, meaning we can encourage more people to switch from mostly plastic nappies, to Eco Nappies. In addition to this, we are able to reduce our environmental footprint, as we don't need to ship tonnes of bamboo to Australia for treatment and manufacturing, it's all done there.

We're a family-owned nappy brand and the rest of our team; marketing, business development, warehouse management, logistics are all based in our combined office/warehouse on Sydney's Northern Beaches (complete with our office puppy, little Oz. ❤️).

If you and your little koala are not COMPLETELY happy with the nappies you purchased, we’ll either refund every cent you’ve paid or send you a different size – whichever option you prefer. (We'll even send you a Return Shipping Label, so you’re not out of pocket for any postage).

Our sizes are based on the weight and age of your baby. We recommend focusing on the weight guide as all bubs grow and develop at different times.

Our nappy pants have a little koala face motif on the front, to let you and your toddler know which is the front.

This is safe, water based and adorable.

Our baby wipes cloth is 100% FSC Certified biodegradable Bamboo, which is both super-soft and durable. They biodegrade in 90 days* and are compostable.

Comfy Koalas Biodegradable Eco Baby Wipes are thoughtfully different. We use oh-so-soft hypoallergenic bamboo and natural ingredients.

We designed our formula from scratch, with a leading Australian Skincare Chemist (and mum!) to ensure they’re as gentle and nourishing as our Award Winning Eco Nappies.

We choose only the best natural ingredients to soothe & protect delicate skin, with Aloe, Jojoba and Vitamin E combined.

Unlike most wipes on the supermarket shelf - we proudly contain no cheap or irritating nasties; no plastic, synthetics and no fragrance. No parabens, alcohol, chlorine, methylisothiazolinone, phenoxyethanol, bronopol or harsh preservatives = happy bum, happy planet.

*We choose only the best and safest ingredients, with the lowest EWG rating of 1-2. The EWG - Environmental Working Group rates ingredients on factors calculated from nearly 60 integrated toxicity, regulatory, and study availability databases from 1-10.

Yes! Our nappies are proudly ECF (elemental chlorine free). Which is a much safer process for your baby and the environment.

Our nappy is also Certified OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. This standard is the world's most trusted label for textile harmful substance testing. It stands for customer confidence and high product safety.

You can be certain that every component of our nappy has been independently tested for harmful substances and is safe.

The tests were conducted by an independent OEKO-TEX® partner institute on the basis of OEKO-TEX's® extensive criteria catalog. In the test they take into account numerous regulated and non-regulated substances, which may be harmful to human health. The limit values for the STANDARD 100 go beyond national and international requirements.

Our nappies are Product class 1, which includes products for babies and has the strictest requirements and limit values.
