Better

The Royal Hospital for Women, Randwick have chosen Northern Beaches based Aussie nappy brand, Comfy Koalas, as their nappy provider.

To deliver more positive outcomes for vulnerable babies in special care, the Royal have switched to a disposable nappy made from hypoallergenic and sustainable bamboo, moving away from ‘mostly plastic’ nappies.

The bamboo nappies are designed by Sydney parents and proven to be both gentler on skin and better for the environment, due to the FSC Certified bamboo and wood pulp used in the outer and core.

The small business offers families (and now hospitals) a gentle and effective solution that uses biodegradable materials.

“Our nappies will provide natural protection to the tiniest bums across the NICU and maternity wards of this distinguished healthcare institution. And we couldn't be prouder,” said Natalie Tsirimokos from Comfy Koalas.

“So many nappies and wipes on supermarket shelves are made from cheap and irritating plastics, synthetics and chemicals. We’re thrilled to offer a nappy fit for the next generation.”

The Royal joins a line-up of other Australian hospitals who use and trust Comfy Koalas as their nappy of choice, including John Hunter Children’s Hospital.
